Subject: HB CDEM Group Transformation Workshop
Purpose of the workshop
1. The purpose of the Joint Committee Workshop on 25 November is to:
1.1. Seek feedback on the DRAFT HBCDEM Transformation Strategy
1.2. Speak on the proposed structural changes and people implications
1.3. Update members on the next steps
2. The workshop is being held with the public excluded for the following reasons.

HB CDEM Group transformation to new operating model to strengthen emergency management in the region. |
To enable discussions of the proposed CDEM Group structural changes without creating unnecessary uncertainty for potentially affected staff and community members |
s7(2)(f)(ii) Excluding the public is necessary to maintain the effective conduct of public affairs by protecting councillors and/or council employees and contractors/ consultants from improper pressure or harassment. |
3. The DRAFT Transformation Strategy and its supporting presentation are attached.
4. The workshop will open with discussion from the Chair of the Joint Committee and the Chair of the Co-ordinating Executives Group. The workshop will be facilitated by Matt Boggs, Director HBCDEM Transformation.
5. At the conclusion of the workshop the following next steps will occur:
5.1. Engagement with partners
5.2. Preparing communications approach for 2025
5.3. Adoption of HBCDEM Transformation Strategy in January 2025
5.4. Work continues on other improvement priorities.
