Subject: Reducing flood risk in Hawke's Bay
Reason for report
1. This item is to workshop an early version of the Reducing Flood Risk in Hawke’s Bay strategic narrative.

2.1. show how this work fits within the Regional Council’s strategic priorities and its overarching relationship to other flood projects.
2.2. discuss the purpose, scope and structure of the document.
2.3. overview the communication approach to support its roll-out including previewing the animation designed to reach a broad audience.

Subject: Reimagining flood resilience project
Reason for report
1. This workshop presentation will update councillors on the progress of the ‘Reimagining Flood Resilience Project’ for the Upper Tukituki Flood Control Scheme and the Heretaunga Plains Flood Control Scheme.
2. The presentation will provide an update on:
2.1. Formation of the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) and initial meetings
2.2. Leading practice review being undertaken
2.3. Procurement of external resourcing to run stakeholder and focus group engagement alongside the existing project team
2.4. Agreed arrangements with Project Champions.
Background
3. Since the last update to Council on 28 March, the project team has been working with staff from the three territorial authority partners and PSGE partners to establish the TAG.
4. The project team has also been focussing on identifying external resourcing for the project to ensure the stakeholder and focus group meetings can be scheduled and completed within the tight timeframe of the project.
