Subject: Stakeholder Engagement Update         

 

Reason for Report

1.      A Stakeholder Engagement Plan has been adopted by the Joint Committee

2.      This report provides an update on the implementation of that plan.

3.      In preparation for the public release of the Tonkin & Taylor technical report, the following ‘Collaborate’ and ‘Consult’ parties have been contacted to arrange meetings for a pre-release briefing  and information session:

·    Port of Napier

·    Iwi

·    KiwiRail

·    New Zealand Transport Agency

·    Napier City Council (Works & Tourism)

·    Hastings District Council (Works)

·    HBRC (Works)

·    Winstone Aggregates

·    Civil Defence Agencies

·    Walk on Water (WOW)

·    Westshore Residents Association

·    Network Utilities

 

4.      An update on the status of these meetings will be provided at the meeting.

5.      The website (www.hbhazards.co.nz) continues to be updated with Committee minutes and other information.

6.      41 people have now registered their interest through the site in being informed by email of project updates, 9 of these since the last Committee meeting in July.

7.      The site has received 626 total visits, with an average of 125.2 per month.

8.      Through TAG and in consultation with the Chair, responses have been sent to letters addressed to the Joint Committee from WOW and Mr Dallimore. These responses are attached for information.

Subject: Project Manager Update         

 

Reason for Report

1.      In accordance with instructions from the Joint Committee, this report is provided in place of the written report required from the Project Manager in accordance with the Terms of Reference for the Joint Committee.

2.      It provides an opportunity for the Project Manager to present a verbal update to the Committee and answer any questions on general project matters including tracking against timeframes, milestone achievements and project risks. The Project Manager will provide a verbal update at the meeting.

3.      For information, the latest progress report from Tonkin & Taylor on the technical work stream is attached to this paper.

4.      In addition, this item will provide an opportunity for the Project Manager to discuss the shape of the strategy document to be presented at the November 13th Joint Committee meeting.

Subject: Update of Protection Works at Whakarire Avenue         

 

1.      This report provides an opportunity for Napier City Council staff to update the Joint Committee on progress with the protection works at Whakarire Avenue.

2.      Napier City Council staff will provide a verbal updated at the meeting.
